The Beach BIA

The Beach Business Improvement Area (BIA) represents over 400 businesses and property owners along Queen St E, between Coxwell Ave to Neville Park Blvd.  As one of over 80 BIAs in the City of Toronto, the Beach BIA’s unique businesses and location make it stand out as a tourist destination.

Through the enhancement and beautification of public spaces, delivery of memorable events, and marketing the area and our business members, we strive to improve our neighbourhood, promote economic activity, and create meaningful experiences for visitors from far and wide.

What is a BIA?

In 1970 the world’s first Business Improvement Area (BIA) was formed in Toronto’s Bloor West Village. Today Toronto is home to 83 BIAs, more than any other city in the world. A Business Improvement Area is a board established by City Council to provide specific service for the benefit of businesses within a defined geographic area. BIAs provide services to supplement, not replace, those provided by the City. Governed by volunteer Boards of Management composed of member businesses and property owners as well as City Councillors, BIAs exist in 20 of the City’s 25 wards.
